Product Description

Polyflo® 40 is a premium aromatic process oil characterized as a C11-C30 mixture of aromatic hydrocarbons specifically formulated for use as a secondary plasticizer and extender oil in polymer processing applications. This medium-viscosity aromatic oil delivers excellent compatibility and solvency with polar polymers including flexible PVC, polyurethane elastomers, natural and synthetic rubbers, and epoxy systems. The low mixed aniline point (30.1-34.3°C) indicates strong aromatic character and superior solvating power, enabling efficient dispersion of fillers, improved processing characteristics, and enhanced flexibility in finished products. With a controlled viscosity range of 42.0-49.5 cSt @ 40°C, Polyflo® 40 provides an optimal balance between processing ease and plasticizer retention. A key specification is the controlled volatility (10% maximum weight loss at 350°F for 15 minutes), ensuring minimal plasticizer loss during high-temperature processing and improved permanence in finished compounds. The high flash point of 280°F minimum ensures enhanced safety during polymer compounding and extrusion operations.
- Excellent Polymer Compatibility: Low mixed aniline point (30.1-34.3°C) indicates high aromatic content for superior solvency and compatibility with polar polymers including PVC, polyurethanes, and SBR.
- Controlled Volatility: Maximum 10% weight loss at 350°F/15 minutes ensures minimal plasticizer loss during high-temperature processing and improved compound stability.
- Balanced Viscosity: 42.0-49.5 cSt @ 40°C provides optimal flow characteristics for efficient mixing while maintaining good plasticizer retention in finished products.
- Secondary Plasticizer Function: Extends primary plasticizers while maintaining compound flexibility, reducing formulation costs without sacrificing performance or longevity.
