Product Description

Polyflo® HP 110 is a highly refined isotropic petroleum pitch produced through advanced short path distillation for maximum product purity. This specialty carbonaceous material serves as a high-performance precursor for carbon fiber manufacturing and as an impregnation pitch for graphite electrode production. The “HP” designation indicates the high-purity nature of this product, while “110” references the controlled softening point range of 110–120°C. Unlike coal tar pitch, which contains higher levels of carcinogenic polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), petroleum-derived pitch offers a cleaner chemistry profile with controlled sulfur content (1.0% max) and exceptionally low quinoline insoluble residue (0.2% max). The high coking value (47.0% minimum) ensures excellent carbon yield during thermal processing, making Polyflo® HP 110 an economically efficient feedstock for carbon material production. CHEM Group’s proprietary short path distillation process enables precise control of pitch properties and can accommodate custom specifications for purity and softening point to meet specific application requirements.
- High Purity Processing: Manufactured using short path distillation technology for maximum product purity and consistent quality.
- Excellent Carbon Yield: High coking value (47.0% minimum) delivers superior carbon yield during carbonization and graphitization processes.
- Low Impurity Content: Exceptionally low quinoline insoluble residue (0.2% max) and controlled ash content (0.2% max) ensure clean carbon material production.
- Customizable Specifications: Can be produced to customer specifications for purity and softening point to meet specific application requirements.

Note: Polyflo® HP 110 is a solid at ambient temperature and must be heated above its softening point (110–120°C) for processing and handling. The pitch is combustible when heated and molten; handle with appropriate thermal protection and fire safety precautions. Avoid breathing fumes generated during heating; use adequate ventilation or respiratory protection. Store in cool, dry conditions away from heat sources and ignition. Consult the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for complete hazard information, exposure limits, first aid measures, and handling precautions. Polyflo® is a registered trademark of ORG CHEM Group, LLC.
