Product Description

CALFLO™ LT is a synthetic blend heat transfer fluid engineered for applications requiring high thermal efficiency across a wide operating temperature range, from extreme cold startups to elevated bulk temperatures. Manufactured by Petro-Canada, this advanced fluid combines synthetic poly-alpha-olefins (PAO) with 99.9% pure, severely hydrocracked VHVI base fluids produced using the patented HT purity process—crystal-clear fluids free of impurities and aromatic compounds that can be hazardous to workplace health and safety. Fortified with specially selected additives developed through more than 25 years of formulating expertise, CALFLO™ LT delivers stronger resistance to oxidative breakdown than competitive synthetic fluids while maintaining outstanding low-temperature pumpability. Operating continuously at bulk temperatures up to 288°C (550°F) with cold startup capability to -40°C (-40°F), this fluid eliminates the need for expensive heat tracing and insulation in outdoor applications while providing the thermal stability typically associated with synthetic aromatic fluids—without the objectionable odors or health and safety concerns.
- Wide Operating Temperature Range: Provides high thermal efficiency from 5°C to 288°C (41°F to 550°F) continuous operation with cold startup pumpability to -40°C (-40°F).
- Extreme Low-Temperature Performance: Pour point below -57°C (-71°F) ensures reliable cold-weather pumpability, eliminating costly heat tracing and insulation requirements.
- Superior Thermal Stability: Maintains autoignition temperature throughout accelerated thermal stress testing while competitive synthetic paraffin fluids experience significant degradation.
- Outstanding Oxidation Resistance: Demonstrates virtually no acid formation or viscosity increase in severe oxidation testing—outperforming both synthetic paraffin and synthetic aromatic competitive fluids.
