CALFLO™ XR is a premium synthetic blend heat transfer fluid engineered for extended temperature range operation in non-pressurized, liquid-phase closed-loop systems. This advanced formulation combines severely hydrocracked mineral base oils with synthetic polyalphaolefin (PAO) technology to deliver exceptional performance from startup temperatures as low as -27°C (-17°F) to continuous bulk operating temperatures up to 288°C (550°F). The ultra-low pour point (below -40°C/-40°F) enables cold-weather dispensing directly from drums and totes without preheating, while also eliminating the need for costly heat tracing and insulation in outdoor installations. CALFLO XR starts with 99.9% pure base fluids produced using Petro-Canada’s proprietary HT purity hydrocracking process, resulting in a crystal-clear fluid virtually free of aromatic impurities that can degrade performance and create workplace health concerns. Enhanced with specially selected oxidation inhibitors, this thermally stable fluid resists degradation, extends service life, and reduces maintenance costs compared to conventional mineral-based heat transfer fluids.
