Description
Thermaflo® 62 is a synthetic heat transfer fluid based on diisopropyl biphenyl chemistry, specifically engineered for non-pressurized, closed-loop systems requiring exceptional thermal stability at elevated temperatures. The alkyl-substituted biphenyl molecular structure provides an optimal balance of high-temperature performance and low vapor pressure characteristics, enabling operation at bulk temperatures up to 330°C (626°F) without the need for pressurized system designs. With a boiling range of 319°C to 332°C (606°F to 630°F) at atmospheric pressure—well above the maximum recommended operating temperature—Thermaflo® 62 maintains liquid-phase operation throughout its service envelope. This fluid’s outstanding oxidation resistance and inherent resistance to solids formation result in extended service life and reduced system maintenance requirements.
- True High-Temperature Performance: Delivers reliable continuous operation to 325°C (620°F) with maximum film temperatures to 360°C (680°F), providing operational margin for demanding process conditions.
- Low-Pressure System Compatibility: Vapor pressure of only 10 psi at 316°C (600°F) enables use in conventional non-pressurized heat transfer systems, reducing equipment complexity and capital costs.
- Fouling-Resistant Chemistry: Diisopropyl biphenyl structure is specifically engineered to resist thermal cracking and solids formation, minimizing system fouling and maintaining heat transfer efficiency.
- Extended Fluid Lifecycle: Exceptional thermal stability and oxidation resistance provide years of reliable, trouble-free operation with minimal degradation.
