Description
Thermaflo® 55 is a recycled synthetic heat transfer fluid composed of heavy alkylbenzene compounds, designed for reliable liquid-phase thermal management in non-pressurized and low-pressure indirect heating systems. Alkylbenzenes represent a distinct class of synthetic fluids that bridge the gap between conventional mineral oils and premium aromatic synthetics—offering superior oxidation resistance, enhanced thermal stability, and longer service life compared to petroleum-based alternatives, while maintaining cost-effectiveness. The heavy alkylbenzene chemistry provides inherent resistance to carbon deposit formation and thermal cracking, delivering consistent viscosity and efficient heat transfer throughout the operating envelope from -25°C to 290°C (-15°F to 550°F).
- Extended Operating Range: Functions reliably from -25°C to 290°C with maximum film temperatures to 335°C (635°F), covering moderate-temperature industrial heating applications.
- Outstanding Low-Temperature Performance: Pumpable down to -28°C (-19°F) with a freeze point below -65°C (-54°F), enabling cold starts without auxiliary heat tracing.
